This project examines two critical biblical themes of human sinfulness and the principle of male domination/female submission. Through a women's Bible study and discussion group the project investigates these themes and the women's relationship with the Bible. Using a feminist critique and object-relations theory, the project concludes that destructive understandings of biblical messages are slowly changed through relationships that value women and believe in their empowerment."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["0f3d74d9-8a9b-4580-a458-c2d78a76b977"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718073383518208,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:28:23.358Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:26:00Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:30:14Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"97f9176c-a8c9-4197-b911-285b97b4e9ed","accessControl_ssim":["731a043a-5ef2-491a-a154-12c1fcdf65ab"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Spontaneous evocation of healing religious experience in pastoral psychotherapy: an intersubjective model"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:25:59Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:34:29Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["33455018-629f-421a-89d9-deaf29ac25f9"],"hasLease_ssim":["1eda3dad-6ec5-4bf6-814b-3d2de9333a2f"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Stuart McLean"],"year_tesim":["1994"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Clyde C Glandon"],"publisher_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Pastoral psychology","Spiritual healing"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Is pastoral psychotherapy defined by secular theories of counseling, as used by clergy who 'bring in' a theological perspective, or does pastoral psychotherapy happen as an intersubject experience between people in which spontaneous religious experiences are evoked which are changemaking and healing? Working from a meaning orientation, an integrating modality is developed following Erikson's theory in which the polarities of the final stage are seen as ego integrity or despair.
