It frames shared ministry as \"choosing life\" for struggling congregations. Research reveals benefits and challenges, including collaboration, resource-sharing, increased workload, and resistance to change. For one such container, this paper explores the Eucharistic Meal, an adaptive re-integration of the symbolic Eucharistic ritual with shared communal meals, inspired by early Church gatherings. Three critical moments punctuate the account: the first was when growing appreciation of God's sovereignty provoked the reconception of the original title 'What is the Holy Spirit doing in the church?'; the second was when a large portion of the congregation mutinied; the third was when the working hypothesis, of a network of renewal,  failed. The author researched the scriptural, theological and patristical foundations for baptism and attempted a program which involved personal spiritual renewal through a rule of prayer, participation in the liturgical life of the church, Christian education and almsgiving ministries. Through comparative analysis, our journey was shown to be fruitful. The rite of Baptism is only the beginning. The project explores this hypothesis in light of certain theological and sociological positions which the author determined to be consistent with the nature of the church and 'folk societies'.  The hypothesis is seen to be espescially appropriate to the small church.  The project describes the activities in the parish aimed at the re-appropriation of its heritage.
