These committed church workers shared their experiences of serving God and neighbor while addressing a high level of extreme poverty, an oppressive government, the pandemic lockdown, natural disasters, and more. It explores the value of a peer cohort as a community building tool that supports and edifies pastors’ discipleship and their respective ministries. However, these qualities were limited to exclusively shepherding and teaching roles. Through preaching a 5-week sermon series, this project began to shape a vision of shared ministry and leadership in this local church among clergy and laity alike. The series used the APEST model of Ephesians 4, taken from the missional hermeneutic of Alan Hirsch. Methodology includes workshop setting, utilizing pre and post surveys, priorities exercises, and dialogue. Five focus groups were administered the priorities exercises to compare with workshop results.
