Founded on Biblical texts and the theology of Schleiermacher, the project initiated and assessed an eight-week intentional learning community within Palisades Presbyterian Church of San Diego, California. Weekly community meetings involved study, prayer, discussion, and spiritual practices. The author offered some Trinitarian teaching aimed at demonstrating that while congregations have their distinctive features they are to reflect something of the communion within the Trinity (perichoresis). A questionnaire on worship and ministry was conducted, some theological reflection encouraged and an evaluation undertaken. The topics included (a) the cultural context of the 21st century church and the adaptive challenge, (b) creating and promoting vision for the church, (c) managing change and conflict, (d) leadership and spiritual formation for the church, (e) creating structures in implementing vision, and (f) creating community and fellowship.
