The use of rhetorical criticism by Phyllis Trible enriches the discourse, providing ways a writer may create a literary sanctuary to allow others reconsider their spiritual heritage. The project demonstrates that a better-informed theology of prayer results in a deepening of the spiritual practices of clergy and church leaders, allowing them to slow down and be involved in a faithful and sustained discipline. This helps them develop a deeper relationship with God. The results are established by a comparison of participants’ surveys taken before, during, and after they have practiced different prayer rules and through the interviews I conducted with the participants."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31bd5819-b5a3-4928-96d5-b581f38b637b"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127102399971328,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:38:34.978Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:42:48Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:33:51Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"35969e20-f728-420b-bede-9eb6506da3fd","accessControl_ssim":["ac21a3b1-673e-4c0e-bd8a-b04731e3e3de"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Becoming all flame: the spiritual journey, theosis, and spiritual direction"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:42:46Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:40:43Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["959f2fd2-b403-4e96-bb89-7c1c358dd9ee"],"hasLease_ssim":["8bd06c72-a01b-409d-9725-a9abfabd24fc"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David Hester"],"year_tesim":["2012"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Michael K Marsh"],"publisher_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Spiritual formation","Spiritual life--Christianity","Deification (Christianity)","Fathers of the church, Greek--Influence (Literary, artistic, etc.)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The teachings of Evagrius, St. John Climacus, and St. John of the Cross concerning spiritual formation and direction can be successfully applied in a modern parish to nurture individual spiritual growth.
