The hypothesis was that learning from service is strengthened when students have opportunities for reflection. The project brought together high school students at Oregon Episcopal School in a workshop format to reflect on their service and its impact. The act of ministry provided two opportunities to educate parishioners about their parish day school and about Episcopal schools in order to increase support for the school as a ministry of the parish. Quantitative and qualitative assessments were made through surveys and a focus group. These assessments suggest that providing opportunities to welcome and educate parishioners about their parish school can increase support for the school and improve the school-parish relationship. The theological foundation incorporates the missio dei, hospitality, and the Trinity.
