But a new paradigm characterized by integration has been coalescing and is much more compatible with Christ's cause. The meaning of the reconciling gospel and the influence of theological leaders, are shown to be major factors in the church union process.  Resistance to change, tradition, lack of clear leadership and confusion in voting procedures were factors responsible for the anti-union movement.
