It is a concern that many churches have not come to terms with. In Australia unemployment was a major concern in the early part of the 1980's. This study looks at one major industrial city, namely, Wollongong in N.S.W. and considers the responsibility of the church to do ministry with the unemployed. It raises the preliminary issues of consciousness raising within the church on the issues of unemployment. It looks at economic, sociological, and theological aspects of unemployment and then proceeds to use the process of structural analysis as a tool in a workshop situation. A key feature of the Workbook is 'The Anchorhold Personality Temperament Indicator' which leads persons to learn meditation according to their personality temperament. The Workbook includes an analysis as to why persons in the 1980's are hungry for the ministry it offers."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717689315295232,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:22:17.081Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:02:38Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:46:45Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"96d06880-da8c-47c2-a7ab-762a40c9227b","accessControl_ssim":["75a31e85-ad3c-4ed4-9020-1fb67172abeb"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Redefine the theology and practice of worship for Malaysian Baptists"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:02:37Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:32:33Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["3245128c-114b-4bb1-930b-c4a3d00a6ed9"],"hasLease_ssim":["68348209-6c02-4681-a528-89f43ba3cdb7"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["James Chuck"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"location_tesim":["Malaysia"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Chin-Huat Kang"],"keyword_tesim":["Theology, Contextual","Indigenization of worship"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Public worship--Baptists","Southern Baptist Convention","Missions","Theology","Church and social problems--Baptists","Church history"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["After surveying the literature on worship during biblical times, subsequent Christian history, and the church life of the Southern Baptists and Malaysian Baptists, as well as consulting with the Malaysian Baptist clergy and laypersons and dialoguing with the students at the Baptist Theological Seminary, Malaysia, the writer attempted to relate and introduce, with attention given to the Malaysian context and situation, the issues of social concerns and contextualization to Malaysian Baptist worship life in an acceptable manner. Theological reflection analyzes ministry in a secular society and is illustrated by pen pictures and case studies.
