The study reviews literature from biblical times to the present on the purpose, theological and biblical bases, practice, and methods of pastoral visitation.  Disciples' theology on pastoral visitation was reviewed, and a survey of Disciples ministers in Kansas was made.  A strategy for pastoral visitation in the pastors' studies was developed in notebook form and field-tested. Research into the process of Indochinese migration into Australia also is included.  A survey was conducted among churches in Sydney to discover the distinctive elements of Chinese evangelism.  A training program was developed based on the findings. This program was tested and retested. The project established principles and methods of counseling for Korean churches which can be effective in ministry.  Questionnaires reveal that clergy and laity both feel home visitation is necessary. Preaching-centered ministry and home visitation must work together in Korea. The author includes a study of attitudes toward persons with disabilities, and two questionnaires.  Some pastoral care theories and practices are reviewed.  Conclusions are affirmative of contributions made by pastors with disabilities.  Those who have 'been there' do create a better sense of rapport with clients or parishioners going through painful life experiences.
