Lay care-givers (elders and deacons) attended a two-day workshop in which they were presented with a brief history and explanation of pastoral care and spirituality, and introduced to the concept of 'spiritually centered pastoral care' or spiritual direction by lay care-givers. But a new paradigm characterized by integration has been coalescing and is much more compatible with Christ's cause. Information gathered was used to develop a workshop manual in the areas of time management, pastoral counseling and educational opportunities.
