It draws on components of Wesleyan spirituality (meditation on scripture and the class meeting) and the contemporary disciplines of sociology (relaxation techniques and bi-modal consciousness), psychology (Jungian personality types) and education (individual-small group learning dynamics). A key feature of the Workbook is 'The Anchorhold Personality Temperament Indicator' which leads persons to learn meditation according to their personality temperament. The Workbook includes an analysis as to why persons in the 1980's are hungry for the ministry it offers."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717689315295232,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:22:17.081Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:11:42Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:21:45Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"2f85105a-0dce-48e0-a3af-b40cfaa374f3","accessControl_ssim":["4283ed19-6ff2-4403-a676-ba55f5feb6cd"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A design for enabling urban congregations to cope with their fear of displacement when faced with communities in transition"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:11:38Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:30:52Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["cf72c55a-ebed-4d5e-a242-7b9642d30ea3"],"hasLease_ssim":["6c264141-fde5-48e8-bf51-6a59765fdcc5"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Tex Sample"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David C Downing"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Social change","Congregations","City churches","Neighborhoods"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project seeks to discover why many urban parishes tend to adhere to traditional ecclesiastical patterns when their neighborhoods undergo change. A careful examination of the biblical basis for lay ministry is highlighted by literature in the field. The transient military congregation and the specifics of how the Sunderland model is adopted to it are discussed. Implications for chaplain usage are considered through three questionnaires.
