To help church members fulfill their Christian ministry a training program was developed covering the following resources: 1) needs of recent immigrant Koreans; 2) principles of pastoral care; 3) skills of pastoral care. At the conclusion, lay-shepherds had taken responsibility for one another with skills and perspectives of pastoral care and expressed growth in personality and spirituality. The program closed with suggestions for continuing education of lay-shepherds and maintenance of the lay-shepherding group."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791125377620377600,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:11:10.100Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:47:09Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:23:05Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4aa9a29f-e6be-4d97-aed2-a18ea8db7872","accessControl_ssim":["62a5312f-f89a-4021-90c2-77cd8844de45"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A 'systems approach' for a small parish of the Episcopal Church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:47:08Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:19:20Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["068857f3-e797-4e12-830c-bed36b3ce829"],"hasLease_ssim":["e8be0793-760d-4b80-b10a-52dc86be93b1"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Paul George Kellogg"],"year_tesim":["1983"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["William Farmer Wright"],"keyword_tesim":["Commitment (Religion)"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["All Saints Episcopal Church (Safford, Ariz)","Decision making","Church growth","Episcopal Church--Parish life"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project's thesis is that a 'systems approach' can produce positive changes in parish life. The thesis examines the historical reasons for the movement's creation, development and progress in the first six decades. Initially the pioneers declared that fellowship alone was the basis of unity; however, soon the necessity of a doctrinal base was realized and this development is documented. The structural growth of the movement in eastern and western Canada and the initial organic relationship with the Assemblies of God in the United States are documented.
