It focused on a ten week study of the spiritual disciplines of accountability, Scripture memorization, prayer, Bible study, evangelism, Christian character, missions and discipleship and was carried out in both group and individual settings.  The Scriptural basis for these disciplines was examined as they appeared in the life of Christ with other biblical support analyzed in the Great Commission and Jesus' quotation of the Greatest Commandment.  Various methodologies are researched. With the rapid growth of Christianity in India there are no other alternatives but to equip the lay people for the work. Second, this project will suggest methods for church-based training programs for lay church planters. This study consists of understanding the purpose of a local church and also demonstrates a biblical foundation for church-based training for lay church planters. This study will also define the role of the pioneer workers as trainer. The authors also suggest methods on how to organize training program, including courses and subjects, which need to be taught. The destiny of India lies in the hands of lay people. Ch. 1. Introduces Mount Olive Baptist Church and its surrounding community. The demographics of the community and the church show that the congregation places its focus on the development of its youth and believes in the value of education. Ch. 2 addresses the biblical and theological issues surrounding youth. Ch.3 sets forth a paradigm for understanding the growth and development of youth. Ch. 4 Explains the process used in implementing the project. The pre and post seminar questionnaires and the focus group were the tools used to evaluate the effectiveness of the seminar. The final chapter of the project focuses on analysis and evaluation. This work contends that effective youth ministry must be done from a holistic perspective. A holistic youth program seeks to engage the young person at every level of their being--spiritually, socially, academically, psychologically, and physically. Ch. 4 describes each step in the process of implementing the mentoring ministry within a local church. This project rests on the foundations of biblical and historical support for short-term mission experiences, as well as insights from the fields of communication, education, and psychology. The short-term mission training modeled reports on one such experience with a group from First Baptist Church, Springtown, Texas traveling to Saltillo, Mexico. The personal experiences of participants and evaluations by selected ministers provided data for evaluation. Evaluation concluded that short-term mission experiences with intentional training do encourage evangelistic habits and church
