After discussing the biblical and theological mandates for apologetics as well as the development of the current postmodern worldview, a case is made that the church needs to respond with a well-reasoned worldview/philosophical argument for the authority and inspiration of the Bible.     A description of the project is given, describing the process from promotion to evaluation. The primary content of the project was a sermons series which was supplemented by an apologetics class. This work contains a brief description of the sermons and a synopsis of the major apologetic arguments of each.     The final chapter provides a description of the empirical data derived from the evaluation of a focus group, and the conclusions were clear. Chapter 4 articulates the four-step Eureka Paradigm for strategizing by churches. The four steps are retrospection, introspection, prospection, and direction. Chapter 5 addresses the possible reasons for the lack of acceptance of the Eureka Paradigm. Chapter 2 focuses on a biblical and historical foundation for the assimilation of new believers. This chapter identifies what the Bible has to say about assimilation. Chapter 3 looks at assimilation in a postmodern world. It examines what we can learn from the study of postmodernity pertaining to the assimilation of new believers. Chapter 4 unveils the design and implementation of the project. An explanation of the implementation and evaluation of the program have been included. Chapter 5 assesses progress toward assimilating additional new believers at Calvary. Chapter 3 examines the contemporary views in church growth literature related to overcoming growth barriers. An evangelistic Sunday school is examined as a primary means to overcome growth barriers. Chapter 4 records the ministry process used in the project. It provides details in relation to the church consultation and training provided to the client. Chapter 5 provides the analysis of the impact of the church consultation. Chapter 1 outlines the purpose and goals of the project and gives one a sense of the history and setting of Cave City Baptist Church. A brief summary of the value of church marketing and definitions are included. Chapter 2 begins with a brief survey of the state of the church in North America, but is primarily devoted to providing a strong biblical defense of some church marketing concepts. Included is application of how churches can contextualize these concepts in their fields. Chapter 3 gives the reader a summary of the rural state of the church today. Then it provides a rather comprehensive analysis of modern marketing terms, methods, strategies and also examples of how some churches, both rural and urban, have succeeded in growth using missiological church marketing. Chapter 4 gives a step-by-step description of the project as it was executed during the summer of 2002. Some evaluation is included. Chapter 5 provides a more thorough evaluation and and analysis of the project results with some personal observations. This work contends that although these is some danger in blindly applying concepts of church marketing without biblical foresight, there are some church marketing principles which can be defended from the scriptures and used to expand the kingdom of God. The rural church is not without precedence, support and resources in its endeavor to grow the membership both numerically and
