Over the next five-to-ten years, decisions made by the local church will either prepare it for closure or seize the future for the Kingdom. The Western Church loses the second-largest generation when the Baby Boomers [Boomers] either die or become unable to continue attending and serving.Is the church prepared? Is the church constructing a succession plan for when the Boomers are gone? The church will experience extreme shifts during this transition in leadership style, methodology, authenticity, polity, structure, and behavior. This project sought to understand the complexities of the coming generational transition and provide a starting point through the development of the change readiness of First Baptist Church [FBCC], Crowley, Texas.The results of the project revealed an increase in change readiness for organizational succession planning after a sermon series designed to promote understanding and readiness toward change. In addition, the theological background for the study with exegetical analysis of the Lukan parables is presented.Chapter 2 outlines the project research plan and methodology.  A weekly progress report is also included in this chapter.Chapter 3 presents the qualitative and quantitative project analysis gathered from both a pre- and post-study survey and a pre- and post-study financial giving report. Through using team-building techniques the writer sought to improve the effectiveness of the group by reducing conflict and building cohesive relationships within the church's pastoral staff.  The project required ten seminar sessions and a two-session workshop to complete the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.  The major components of the project were: goal setting, communication, conflict management, personality type, and spiritual gifts. The project will be conducted in three phases.  The first phase will include five Sunday morning messages addressing the nature of organizational change in the life of churches, ministry through spiritual gifts, and the development of team ministries.  The messages will discuss ministry structures found in Scripture and the basic operational principles by which they function.  The second phase will focus on five Sunday evening seminars.  The seminars will examine Sunday morning sermons in light of Garden Oaks Baptist Church's committee structure with a view toward developing a structure based on a team-ministry approach. Through interaction and dialogue, seminar participants will evaluate Garden Oaks Baptist Church's committee structure and pursue development of a team-ministry structure based on one's spiritual gifts.  The third phase will be designed to enlist a study team of twelve people from participants of the first and second phases.
