The EA Doctrinal Basis focuses on Protestant non-negotiable's and avoids both the minimalism of the ancient creeds and the maximalism of puritan confessions. This statement can be used to define interdenominational unity between the Presbyterian, Baptist, and Methodist traditions, among others. It surveys the faith stories of seven evangelical leaders and their sons from the mid-twentieth century to the present. It also surveys the canon of scripture to see how the baton of faith is passed or not passed from fathers to sons. Using an author-developed questionaire, the seven case studies were evaluated in the areas of conversion experience, subsequent challenges to faith, and relationship between fathers and sons. In addition this research examines father/son relationships through the entire canon of scripture. Though there are Orthodox people in a number of regions of the world, the focus of this project will be on people with Orthodox background who are currently living in Eastern Europe or who have immigrated from countries in Eastern Europe. The project work will begin with extensive research of the beliefs of people of Eastern orthodox background. The research will primarily be conducted through a study of the literature available on Eastern Orthodoxy, but will also involve interviews with current and former Orthodox adherents. Two means will be used to inform and train evangelical Christians in how to witness to people of Eastern Orthodox background. First, the writer will develop, lead, and evaluate a seminar on witnessing to Orthodox people. Seminar participants will be issued a manual that will reinforce the material taught. Second, the writer will revise the manual based on evaluation and feedback from seminar participants.
