The terms 'gospel,' 'kerugma,' and 'contextualization' will be defined and delineated. Examining Paul's sermons in Acts with those by the early Apostles (Acts 2:14-42; 3:12-26) a unified threefold rhetorical methods and message is discovered. A selection of four passages, one from each of the four Gospels, will serve as test cases for this methodology. The author researched the exegetical clues within Hebrews to determine whether or not these influence the communication in preaching. He examined the author of Hebrews' words of encouragement compared to words of warning. He concluded that there is a philosophy of preaching within Hebrews that can be modeled by contemporary preachers.
