He presented the biblical and missiological imperative for missions and informed participants about ethno-linguistic people groups who are still unreached with the biblical message and without a church. The author challenged participants to adopt a strategy coordinator role in missions. This research thesis examines both biblical and Confucian teachings on four key concepts, 'human dignity,' 'suffering,' 'suicide,' and 'life after death,' pertaining to end-of-life issues. The focus of application is on patient autonomy, physician-assisted suicide, and decisions on withholding or withdrawing life-sustaining treatment. The goal is to provide a biblical foundation to a pro-life position and to gain insight on what one needs to be aware of when making end-of-life decisions in a Chinese-Confucian context. The main reason for this appears to be cultural;  a Korean cherishes his honor and tends to keep up appearances. The Korean term for this is che myun. To overcome this cultural barrier, the project leader developed the delayed-response invitation program. He projects this program to be a more effective invitation method for Korean people than the immediate-response invitation. The project involved evangelistic preaching, the project leader made an announcement that a class would start the following week for those interested in learning more about the Christian faith. Those who responded to such an invitation were connected automatically to a four-week teaching program. Matthew"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The author's purpose was to use creative stories (self-written and/or collected) to illustrate and illuminate the Beatitudes of Matthew 5:1-12 so they might be more easily incorporated and retained in the lives of hearers.  Over a period of 13 weeks the author presented stories over each beatitude, using pre-tests and post-tests, to measure any changes on the participant that may have been a result of the story's influence.  One week after the story the author presented a sermon on the previous beatitude to help underscore the point of the story itself.  At the beginning and end of the project, spiritual growth assessment inventories were administered to determine any overall changes in attitude and action. The model that is identified is described as a 'hospitable, eschatological welcome.' The five pericopes studied contain both examples and teaching from the earthly ministry of Jesus, demonstrating the alignment that existed between his words and actions on this subject. In particular, the pericopes center around Jesus' controversial ministry to the sinners and tax collectors, the criticism he received from the Pharisees, and his commission to the disciples. In addition, table fellowship, as an element of the oriental hospitality, is explored as the cultural context for that which was occurring in the key passages of study. The history of God's salvation plan is the theological backdrop, beginning with God's heart for the stranger in the Old Testament and ending with a look at the cross as the most powerful example of the hospitality of God toward man. Preaching every Sunday is a demanding job for the pastor of a local church. Nevertheless, a pastor must take the task of preaching seriously, because, historically, God used preaching to call His own people and bring them to salvation. Therefore, a pastor must do his best to preach in order to effect a change in his audience for God's glory. One concern of a pastor is to know how to use a main idea in his preaching. This thesis will examine the use of a main idea in twenty sermons that exemplify the preaching of John Han Heum Oak. Various kinds of methods may be incorporated for preaching effectively. One of them is to use a main idea. The purpose of preaching is not merely to pass on useful information, but to motivate a change in a person to live his or her life for God.
