The project was conducted in three stages: the enlistment of potential leaders, the training of the leaders, and the enlistment of leaders and assignment of participants to specific Shepherd Groups. The team will then utlilize their training to implement a project that provides an opportunity for students to learn computer skills at an orphanage in Juarez, Mexico.  This type of ministry should be a foundational element of a church's comprehensive evangelical outreach program. The writer will assist non-Christians, who have experienced cross-cultural differences, to understand salvation and will equip Christians to conduct cross-cultural evangelism. Using successful examples of overcoming cultural differences as models, a selected cell group will be equipped with biblical and theological knowledge about cross-cultural evangelism so it can effectively communicate Christ cross-culturally.  This project proposes a model for cross-cultural evangelism at Korean First Baptist Church of Waco, Texas based on a church cell group. First, the theological foundation for cross-cultural evangelism, which are found in the Bible, will be presented.  Second, based on these biblical principles, a model cell group will be established. Third, this cell group will stimulate church growth using innovative methods of cross-cultural evangelism, which will include formal discipleship training.  The meaning of the incarnation will be the basis for a philosophy of ministry to communicate the gospel cross-culturally. The congregation at First Baptist is composed mainly of retired people who have moved to the Broaddus area due to its proximity to Lake Sam Rayburn.  The people of First Baptist appear uncertain of their calling and specific ministry for the community. It is the aim of this project to offer a focus and an opportunity for the church members to realize their potential as servants and to discover their unique calling from God. The church will then transmit that calling into a ministry suited for the community. This is especially perplexing in light of the belief that when a person is born again, he or she receives the Holy Spirit and is thereby equipped and capable of fruitful Christian life.  Southern Baptists need not concede their biblical doctrine in order to explain and overcome this phenomenon.  While it is true that a person receives the Holy Spirit at the moment of conversion, some Southern Baptists fail to teach their converts how to recognize his work and how to relate to him as a person.  Hence, he is grieved, his work is quenched, and life in Christ become stagnant and unfruitful. This project will delve into the fruitlessness of inactive Christians and demonstrate how the major Christian disciplines are an outgrowth of the Holy Spirit's work in a believer's life. The project weaves together two major elements in order to reach this goal.  The first involves the development and implementation of a retreat specifically designed for cell group leaders.  The purpose of this multi-day retreat is to provide cell leaders with a cognitively richer and experientially broader foundation regarding koinonia.  The second major element of the project involves an eight-week period of time, immediately following the retreat, in which retreat participants will apply what was learned and experienced on the retreat in the setting of their particular cell groups. Building on the foundation laid during the retreat, cell group leaders should be able to more effectively foster and encourage the development of community within their groups. An explanation and understanding of the 'bow tie' theory of church growth and the development of a five-year growth strategy will also be presented. The project leader will lead an eight-week training period with the adult Sunday School teachers after the evening worship service. Each session will last approximately one hour. The sessions will seek to expand the teacher's knowledge of the importance of Sunday School as well as seek to improve the organization of the Sunday School program at Chapel Grove Baptist Church. This project, upon completion, will provide the Sunday School ministry at Chapel Grove Baptist Church a strong foundation upon which to build for the future. The goal is to provide a plan that will not only impact the present but also the future. He examined his own perceptions toward other preachers' self-disclosure by listening and evaluating twenty-five messages. He used self-disclosing stories and had a reflection group evaluate both self-disclosing and non-self-disclosing messages. The results were compared to a larger sample which evaluated one self-disclosing and one non-self-disclosing message. The purpose of the research is to find out if, and why, students from varying geographic regions and/or cultures respond differently to the person of Jesus Christ and Christianity in general. What influences their attitudes toward Christianity? What factors attract them toward or deflect them away from Christianity? The material utilized will seek to develop those skills needed to build an effective Men's Ministry. The focus of the project will be four key areas which the first century church utilized to become mature disciples of Jesus Christ. While doing so, they impacted the world and laid the foundation for carrying out the Great Commission (see Matt. 28:19-20). The four key areas are: prayer, empowerment, encouragement, and evangelism. The project leader will conduct five two-hour sessions with his core group of twenty men divided into five accountability groups of four. The first ten minutes will be devoted to prayer requests and small group prayer followed by forty-five minutes of teaching and dialogue (see appendices). A ten-minute break for refreshments will follow the first hour, and the second hour will conclude with ten minutes of reflection and interaction to the material discussed.
