The author studied their decisions, their theological and practical motivations, their experience in transition, and the short-term outcome of their decisions.  The author, a pastor of Lutheran Church-Canada, used the heuristic theory of qualitative research methodology. The author provides a personal, theological, biblical and historical orientation to the project and suggests an agenda and recommendations toward improved relationships between pastor and people.
