Six sermons were preached during public worship at Zion-Memorial United Church, Carleton Place, Ontario. Fourteen participants from the congregation responded to a questionnaire.  The qualitative research method 'content analysis' was used to examine data reported by the hearers in sixty-one answers to the questionnaire.  These data tell how the hearers reacted to the sermons, and what they had to say about the message and the 'sender' of the message. The action in ministry was an eleven-week course called 'The Lord's Prayer As Vocation.' Eight young adult members of Trinity Old Lutheran Church (Eggertsville, NY), four men and four women, participated. In the research project nine consultant interventions were developed and then evaluated by clergy and laity.  The researcher concludes that consultants can express their ecclesiological position to client congregations as long as this nurtures the consulting relationship.  He proposes that congregational support for baptismal ministry can be ethically influenced through personal self-disclosure by the consultant and a mutual exploration of ecclesiology. Baptismal ministry is the primary ministry, a ministry of engagement in God's mission in the world. Using focus groups of ordained leaders as the basis, the thesis asks how ordained leadership could more effectively encourage the ministry of the baptized, how obstacles may be identified and overcome, and how the influences on ordained ministry can be managed while maintaining a focus on service to baptismal ministries. Grounded in an action in ministry consisting of twelve guided conversations, this thesis explores the extent to which their experience of this phenomenon outside the gathered church influences how Anglicans relate to and participate in their congregation.  No distinction was discerned between their perceptions of power inside and outside the gathered church. In a qualitative study, participants in a group setting indicated their own needs for faith learning and collaborated with each other in facilitating group exploration of these issues. Evaluated using qualitative research methodology, the results indicate that this process encourages and enables persons to reflect on their experiences, discovering new possibilities for enhancing funeral ministry in both individual and corporate areas. The initial data were generated by a questionnaire specifically designed and directed to the fourteen congregational owners.  A provincial status was then developed and circulated, accompanied by a survey validation document.
