A foundation of Christian ministry is constructed with the study of several chapters of the gospel of John, Ephesians, and First Peter. Next, basic principles of ordained ministry are gleaned from known ancient and classic theologians and key documents like the Anglican Thirty-Nine Articles. The interview questions focused on signs of initiative, insight, and spiritual growth occurring during the pastor's 4-month sabbatical.  The exercise did not produce a clear articulation of the parish's mission priorities. The thesis describes a biblical and theological basis for this presupposition.  It then presents a program undertaken to help seminarians focus on their spiritual formation for ministry, and presents an evaluation of that program based on feedback from the participants. The first chapter describes some complaints from the parishioners in the diocese of Kirinyaga of clergy who are currently serving in various parishes and are not qualified enough to meet the needs of the Christians in the pews.  The second chapter is an outline of curriculum issues in ACK colleges.  The third chapter gives Biblical Foundations for Theological Education, and the impact of these foundations on theological education today.  The fourth chapter presents the research data analysis based on the five categories of the respondents who completed and returned the questionnaires.  There respondents were: students, clergy, laity, tutors and bishops. An outline of the issues and concerns put forward by the respondents shows that review and evaluation of the current curriculum is urgent and important.
