The restorative nature of discipline is explored in the section dealing with theology of ministry. The biblical and theological dimensions are first investigated.  Experiential data are then drawn from Appreciative Inquiry interviews of fifteen Episcopal clergy regarding events in their ministries which have brought them significant joy.  Extensive discussion of the philosophical and theological dimensions of Appreciative Inquiry, an experientially based organizational development tool, is included. The first chapter describes some complaints from the parishioners in the diocese of Kirinyaga of clergy who are currently serving in various parishes and are not qualified enough to meet the needs of the Christians in the pews.  The second chapter is an outline of curriculum issues in ACK colleges.  The third chapter gives Biblical Foundations for Theological Education, and the impact of these foundations on theological education today.  The fourth chapter presents the research data analysis based on the five categories of the respondents who completed and returned the questionnaires.  There respondents were: students, clergy, laity, tutors and bishops. An outline of the issues and concerns put forward by the respondents shows that review and evaluation of the current curriculum is urgent and important. The techniques which were taught were drawn from various monastic traditions and Christian mystics from throughout the ages.  They were presented over the course of eight weeks of study.  In addition to learning various styles of contemplative prayer the participants were asked to employ them for at least 15 minutes a day, five days a week, for each of the eight weeks. Biblical exegesis demonstrates that baptism, though multivalent, is the rite of entrance into the new community established by the redeeming work of Christ.  An historical survey of the Reformed tradition, giving special attention to the work of John Calvin and the documents of the Westminster Assembly, concludes that the Reformed tradition has held to a highly developed baptismal theology, seeing the sacrament not as a mere symbol but as an instrumental means of grace.  Baptismal theology has, however, become a source of debate and division, often focused on the question of 'baptismal regeneration.' Government policies in some states in northern Nigeria are tilted to favor Muslims. The enforcement of the sharia legal system in twelve northern states in Nigeria has marginalized the Christians and made the mission and evangelism of the Church difficult. The innovation by the Wusasa Diocese to reach out using techniques like personal evangelism, discipleship, dialogue, education and poverty alleviation programmes are yielding results. Muslims are coming to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Dialogue has helped to minimize violence and has promoted mutual understanding between Christians and Muslims.
