The study was conducted among 35 priests and 65 non-clergy who congregate within 16 parishes of the diocese. Focus is laid on key factors leading to the actual movement of congregants from one church to another. Each of these factors is analyzed to show its impact on congregations' response to keeping within the fellowship(s). These include the Scripture itself, the theologians from Origen, Augustine and Jerome to Johnathan Edwards, and finally today's students and professors. The conclusion drawn from all sources is that the biblical story is the reason for studying Hebrew. The sooner students become involved in reading the Hebrew Bible, and the more successful they are, the more important Hebrew study will be to them.
