In the Biblical Theology chapter, I analyze six key biblical texts (Gen 1:26-27; Exod 20:4; Isa 40:18; Psa 115:3-4; Heb 1:3; Col 1:15) that deal with the concept of 'image.' I then relate them to my understanding of the imago Dei and its relationship to the disciplines of Christian Spiritual Formation, especially as a means of outlining the Creation, Fall, Reconciliation and Restoration of Humankind through Christ. The Systematic Theology chapter highlights the Substantialist or Ontological interpretation of the imago Dei and argues the importance of how 'right being' precedes 'right doing.' The Field Research chapter explores two 'right doing' motifs often found in youth ministry: 1. 'Saved from Hell' versus 'Saved to Christ,' and 2. 'Sin Management' versus 'Becoming like Christ.' the Conclusion emphasizes that our authentic, systematic renewal in Christ (being) necessarily impacts the nature and degree of right (doing) behavior."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128507175141376,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:00:54.675Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:16:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:06:11Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b2574715-f627-47ba-864d-2bad06bbea67","accessControl_ssim":["38ec95a2-569c-4532-be83-310cc00b1c52"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["'Singing the helplessness blues no more': living with proper confidence into the Christo-Trinitarian narrative as emergent missioners"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:16:09Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:17:06Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["a5fa7726-a970-4c6e-b823-80169f94a5ff"],"hasLease_ssim":["722d38a8-e681-4a8b-a086-00044c48aadd"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA)"],"year_tesim":["2012"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Martha H Giltinan"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA)"],"subject_tesim":["Postmodernism","Religious education--Philosophy","Trinity--History of doctrines","God--Love","Missions--Theory","Incarnation","Jesus Christ"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["I am looking at the question: 'What shape will Christian wisdom take under the condition of postmodernity in training seminarians?' Muslim attitudes toward Christianity are analyzed as expressed in the literature of the period and in a field study conducted in 2011-2012. The theme of God's saving victory is identified as an aid in helping Muslims understand the Bible. Jesus' person and work are explained in terms that are more comprehensible to Muslims. Muslim attitudes toward Egypt's Christians are explored. Conclusions are drawn about how the two communities need to build trust and peaceful co-existence particularly in the post-Arab Spring environment in Egypt."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129501865869313,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:16:43.287Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:34:28Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:50:10Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"932df2cd-56f6-4fbe-9efb-964481284083","accessControl_ssim":["eca31056-486e-4462-85b8-6cb521247455"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Christ's new humanity at work in the multi-ethnic church: a study of Anglican churches in the Georges' River region (GRR) of the Diocese of Sydney"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:34:25Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:26:29Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["fbcecda4-a24e-49c3-b437-c3e2e386b7af"],"hasLease_ssim":["2bbbd44b-7315-4845-bc3d-f5c792cf30c1"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA)"],"advisor_tesim":["Grant LeMarquand"],"year_tesim":["2012"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Walter Barton Vandenhengel"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA)"],"subject_tesim":["Race relations","Anglican Communion","Anglican Church of Australia. This fact of multi-ethnicity in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney has led to the planting of ethnic-specific congregations based on McGavran's Homogeneous Unit Principle. This thesis challenges the HUP model by examining the biblical theological framework of Christ's new humanity and understanding evangelism, conversion and church-planting with that framework. Field research shows that ethnic-specific church planting brings immaturity, ethnic insulation, and frustration for Anglican rectors.
