This translates into a growing fundamental problem with the church's ability to be witnesses of the gospel. These include the Scripture itself, the theologians from Origen, Augustine and Jerome to Johnathan Edwards, and finally today's students and professors. The conclusion drawn from all sources is that the biblical story is the reason for studying Hebrew. The sooner students become involved in reading the Hebrew Bible, and the more successful they are, the more important Hebrew study will be to them. Success in seminary will hopefully encourage their post-seminary use of Hebrew."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131000284119040,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:40:32.290Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:37:26Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:16:56Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"09d8c159-833b-43fd-a319-621cae33aec7","accessControl_ssim":["86bae93e-284d-44ee-9e1d-201bbf83ce6c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Millennial graduate students' growth from superficial followers to mature disciples of Jesus Christ"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:37:25Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:23:42Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["caf4803e-421b-49a6-8499-572d609954bc"],"hasLease_ssim":["bc03f2ce-82dc-4e80-bf5f-a2d2409a75a6"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA)"],"advisor_tesim":["Henry L Thompson"],"year_tesim":["2015"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Scott S Santibanez"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA)"],"subject_tesim":["Faith development","Pastoral theology","Graduate students","Case studies"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This thesis focuses on a study in which Graduate Christian Fellowship leaders at a major university were not consistently able to help millennial graduate students to grow from superficial followers of Jesus to mature disciples whose lives are being transformed by Christlikeness. I first explore the biblical and systematic theology of Christlike maturity. Next, I describe a series of interviews in which the three most common emerging themes affecting spiritual growth among graduate students were: limited time, the need for community, and spiritual growth through crises. I conclude by discussing the implications of these findings for campus ministry planning."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717353455353856,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:16:56.781Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:07:48Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:57:24Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"9f73b918-019b-41a6-846c-6f361d9ade67","accessControl_ssim":["58871eca-9aa1-4e15-a371-fae0bbd80163"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Integrating biblical language study and homiletical preparation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:07:47Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:47:32Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["e6ad3549-6fa2-4cb5-ab14-cfc66d67b488"],"hasLease_ssim":["ec3882b1-a008-4e93-b112-a9323589b2e2"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA)"],"advisor_tesim":["Peter W Walker"],"year_tesim":["2013"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Richard G Herbster"],"keyword_tesim":["Bible--Authority","Theory","Sermon preparation"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA)"],"subject_tesim":["Revelation--Christianity","Presbyterian Church--Clergy","Bible--Homiletic use","Preaching","Bible--Language, style","Sermons"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This thesis considers the integration of biblical language study with homiletical preparation. Through a series of interviews and surveys, Presbyterian pastors in western Pennsylvania were studied to consider their attitudes toward and use of the biblical languages in preparing to preach.
