This project begins with a summary of the challenges faced by megachurch pastors. A chapter of biblical and historical considerations provides background material on the value of team ministry. Case studies reveal lessons learned through interviews, surveys, and onsite visits at churches that have incorporated a team-preaching model. It needs leaders who recognize God's calling and can effectively implement that calling in today's church.  This project presents a practical elder leadership model developed and implemented by Olathe Bible Church in shepherding its congregation.  The model was derived from biblical investigation and case studies of large, multi-staff, elder-led churches.  The scriptural findings and case research were applied to create a relevant, practical, visual model of shepherding leadership for use in elder-led churches. Major problems facing Crystal EFC upon the arrival of a new pastor in 1990 included lack of leadership, unclear spiritual identity, loss of vision, inward focus, lack of cohesive systems, and fragmented staff.  Major symptoms included declining attendance, financial deficit, internal discord, and low morale.  Each area was impacted by initiating alternative concepts and practices drawn from Scripture and espoused by experts.  Five-year results show substantial progress in each problem area.
