Adolescents graduate from high school but then have a difficult time transitioning to adulthood. Emerging adulthood is not a generational designation like “Generation Z.” Rather, sociologists describe those age 18-30 as emerging adults. Young people in this age group are no longer adolescents, but they do not consider themselves full-fledged adults. Emerging adults face many challenges during this period in life in the areas of education, relationships, work, careers, living arrangements, and many more. They are looking for answers to questions such as: Who am I? Why am I here? What is life all about? These individuals need guidance in understanding their worldview, values, vocation, and personality and giftedness. Emerging adults need a decision-making paradigm to assist them in navigating the challenges and questions during this crucial stage in life."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716229217255424,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:59:04.624Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:34:50Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:53:03Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b330d60e-78df-4fd2-b7a8-292b4eb2276c","accessControl_ssim":["4bda4726-6603-4d1e-8efe-185d44754e32"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Benefits Of Multi-Ethnic Diversity From A Majority Culture Perspective At A Christian High School In Voucher Program: A Study Of Wisconsin Lutheran High School In Milwaukee, Wisconsin"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:34:49Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:18:30Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["5ccad92f-cb56-4f08-9106-43d39bf95528"],"hasLease_ssim":["64105b3a-eae2-49c2-ad88-207c6f4b0ae8"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"discipline_tesim":["Leadership","Ministry Management"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["William Donahue Ph.D.","John Kolander","James Moore Ph.D."],"year_tesim":["2018"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. In order to assist in the recruitment of a balanced multi-ethnic student body, this project explores the positive benefits from the majority culture perspective of Caucasian parents whose students attended WLHS in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The project's biblical exploration centers on the Great Commission's call for ethnic inclusion, as well as the biblical issues related to maintaining a healthy, multi-ethnic diversity in a high school. The review of contemporary literature explores the problem of school segregation; the demonstrable benefits of multi-ethnic schools for white students; the role parental perceptions play in school selection; and the special way a multi-ethnic Christian school can deal with racism and segregation as spiritual problems. Key findings of the project included: white parents are more likely to listen to other white parents than objective data; diversity is more often a reason to reject a school than a factor in selecting a school; parents' positive perceptions of safety and academic rigor are vital; and parents' understanding of diversity's benefits grow as they reflect more deeply upon them."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719626410557440,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:53:04.440Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T17:30:12Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:16:57Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"35e096bb-9e1b-4430-93df-b6522ab74294","accessControl_ssim":["403b3738-3984-4d93-8d08-cc2212e37290"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Developing a syllabus for pastors and those in ministerial training on addiction recovery through twelve step philosophy"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T17:30:11Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:41:13Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["38ca8861-a93c-41d0-80d0-f362cf313591"],"hasLease_ssim":["c8d32934-6b20-4dbf-88c2-471b355e9435"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["Julie Russo"],"year_tesim":["2016"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Herbert E Hudson"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"subject_tesim":["Twelve-step programs","Christian education","Church work with addicts","Education--Curricula"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Churches divorced themselves from the problem of addiction following the Repeal of Prohibition, and only recently have begun to support and utilize Twelve Step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Celebrate Recovery. This report explored the biblical foundations and the theological reflections of these seven biblical elements and formulated them into a ten-lesson course. A pre-teaching survey of the knowledge of the students about these elements and a similar post-teachng survey served as the guidelines for the course design as well as the basis for the evaluation of the teaching. The study concluded that character formation is enhanced when students practice spiritual disciplines in community."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718303905611776,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:32:03.201Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:21:51Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:57:36Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"cf297b16-165b-4cbf-a4e0-4a3dec381d94","accessControl_ssim":["a6e11518-305b-4400-96c9-32c88de556dc"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Lessons in Christian essentials: an introductory course on Bible doctrine"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:21:50Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:04:08Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0526c751-884b-4d67-b5fd-e6cc353181cd"],"hasLease_ssim":["2e0263d8-5d02-4f91-b9db-40ca0d53b46b"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["David L Larsen"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Robert Kase McGaha"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University"],"subject_tesim":["Christian education","Education--Curricula","Theology","Bible"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project consists of writing and teaching lessons on basic Christian doctrine, and is undertaken with two primary goals. The first goal is to increase the students' knowledge of Bible doctrine. The second goal is to strengthen the students' faith and love for God. In the opening chapter, research is presented that demonstrates a widespread lack of doctrinal emphasis within evangelical churches. Chapter two addresses the question as to why believers should study Bible doctrine. Chapter three consists of a narrative of completed class sessions.
