The object of the project was to meet the course objectives being achieved in face-to-face instruction. The course was taught in the fall of 2001. Student achievement of the objectives was measured through course assignments, as well as a pre- and post-test of student confidence and competence for youth ministry. Students in the online version of the course achieved the course objectives but exhibited a higher non-completion rate. The core of the project consists of an instructional design which incorporates educational theory with practical application to produce all the necessary theoretical and practical elements for teaching the course.  In addition, the project includes a complete set of teaching notes which arise from contemporary missiological literature and the author's own cross-cultural experience.
