Its goals and objectives were adopted from Patrick Keifert's approach to church growth as set for in We are here now: A new missional era. (2006, Eagle, Idaho: Allelon Publishing). Three exercises were employed to (1) create an awareness of the need for change and to identify church leaders who are innovators and early adopters; (2) appraise the heritage, skills, and spiritual gifts of the congregation; and (3) take a fresh look at the community to discern its needs. Seven dimensions of human beings--physical, intellectual, emotional, social, sexual, spiritual, and volitional--provide practical 'umbrellas' for a focus on wholistic ministry, despite the complexity and diversity of human needs.
