The project augmented the author's seminar Discover Your Ministry ID. The ministry of the whole people of God according to their God-given design, ministry role, and purpose was explored, along with examining Christian volunteer culture. Implementation included data-gathering, training workshops, and an appreciation banquet for volunteers. It was also an attempt to revitalize a local Solomon Islands church by helping it to assess its needs and then design and implement its own objectives and change process.  During the project, significant growth took place in the health and witness of the church.  Methods of assessment included the author's own Church Ministries Survey. In the light of a New Testament perspective, ministry belongs to all believers.  The church needs to dissolve the dichotomy between clergy and laity by equipping multiple leaders.  The Free Methodist Church is a movement of holiness, evangelism, social action and mission.  Its pioneer leaders were both laity and clergy. The project included recruiting lay leaders, training them through a model group process, and then allowing them to recruit and lead their own small groups.  The lay-led small groups were evaluated by means of a questionnaire, and the results indicate that significant spiritual growth occurred. Local churches need to become healing communities for hurting people in the society.  The hypothesis of this project is that, through an equipping program, participants would experience self-worth, confidence and affirmation of their spiritual gifts.  As a result, more people would volunteer to help others and there would be qualitative and quantitative church growth. This study is based mainly on library research. Its theological conviction is that the incarnational shape of Jesus' life should also be the shape of the church's ministry: a ministry that is of the whole people of God, guided by its public servants.  The project was also built upon the psychological/sociological thesis that lay helpers can have significant outcomes in their peer counseling. For these gifts to be effectively utilized in service, the church itself must be structured for employing the spiritual gifts of members.  I drafted a theology of spiritual gifts and a philosophy of ministry regarding spiritual gifts.  I guided the church leadership in drafting an official church position regarding the operation of spiritual gifts within the congregation.  In addition, job descriptions were drafted.  A series of sermons was designed to assist the church in understanding spiritual gifts and discovering gifts each possessed.
