This study examines the approach taken by RHCCC. Strategic planning was employed. A Caring Ministry Handbook was developed to promote clarification and collaboration in ministry strategy, alignment and operation. An action research was adopted using two pilot programs, integrating pastoral care and discipleship, to address people's bio-psycho-socio-spiritual well-being. A review of leadership, adult learning and cultural change literature, semi-structured open-ended interviews and a focus group provided data that was analyzed using Grounded Theory to identify five essential leadership qualities and competencies. Equipping in four of these proved to reduce the gap. Among the key findings: the existence of a gap was confirmed and leadership qualities were deemed more important than competencies. This Pentecostal church is primarily composed of immigrants mostly from Africa and the Caribbean Islands. After struggling to establish a small group ministry, the congregation and leaddership were consulted through conversations, interviews and surveys resulting in a more flexible, focused, and situation-sensitive model. The purpose of this small group ministry is to build a community of disciples nurtured by Bible study and prayer, connected with the church through their leaders, who minister to the needs of those within and beyond the group. The major theme running through this portfolio is hearing God, which played key roles in researcher's spiritual formation and was viewed as a crucial factor in the model designed to help the spiritual formation of CICs. The project showed that most participants expressed their experience of hearing God during lectio divina, and some vowed to change their behaviour. Transformation occurs where our body, mind, and soul converge and this process can be enabled by creativity. I designed and implemented a Christian formational model to support the integration of creativity to spiritual direction via the expressive arts (music, visual, literary, and movement). A qualitative study augmented by cognitive and theopoetic orientations captured participation of spiritual directors in an expressive arts workshop and the field application of these methods. The Anglican Diocese of Toronto identifies leadership as an important skill set for priests, yet there are few opportunities for postulants preparing for ordination to develop these skills. The author created a leadership development curriculum for experienced priests to use as mentors in working with postulants.
