The researcher developed and implemented an eight-week parachurch spiritual formation discipleship program consisting of teaching and praxis to meet those spiritual needs. The hypothesis was that the participants would report an increase in hearing the voice of God, encountering God's presence, gain confidence in ministering to others through words of knowledge and healing, and improve their spiritual well-being. The context for this project is a small town in Ohio that has been struggling with its identity and solidarity. The final document examines each element of the four major phases of the Catholic initiatory process by considering academic-year scheduling constraints and its effects on students, and by describing needs of student-aged persons seeking membership in the Catholic Church, and provides a flexible methodology for implementing the first phase, the period of inquiry, in a university setting.
