As the unchurched demographic continues to grow, their reasons for severing ties with their local churches are explored. The hypothesis espousers that interacting with the unchurched will provide insights into ways to spiritually engage them. Olivet Baptist Church, Columbus, Ohio, explored the misunderstanding of hospitality where benevolence is seen as hospitality. Descriptive research methodology included a pre-test to assess current understanding of hospitality, cognitive interviews, questionnaires, and observation. Treatment included a sermon/workshop series re: biblical hospitality in postmodern culture. A post-test was administered which showed significant shift in the attitude of those who were in the core group.
