The curriculum was tested with a class for new members in Peoples Congregational United Church of Christ in Washington, D.C. In this project, the author, a judicatory executive, designs and conducts a six-month intervention for testing several assumptions regarding his role with churches, pastors, and lay people within the context of the covenantal polity of the United Church of Christ. The methodology included a pretest, a packet of learning activities for the purpose of pre-workshop preparation, a workshop, the post-test and the use of the Delta Model for future action planning and transfer of learning.
