At the time of the fieldwork the researcher had been unchurched for over three years. As the unchurched demographic continues to grow, their reasons for severing ties with their local churches are explored. The hypothesis espousers that interacting with the unchurched will provide insights into ways to spiritually engage them. Fifteen unchurched women were interviewed for this qualitative, ethnographic study. The hypothesis was that educational workshops would help participants become knowledgeable of the after effects of trauma. Participants helped to develop strategies of support for those who experienced some form of trauma. The project was implemented through collaboration with students who attend United Theological Seminary, others connected to seminary, and community members. Participants engaged in educational workshops over a four-week period. Can Christians be taught to be more aware of God's guidance when doing acts of compassion? This qualitative action research project examined this question by introducing traditional United Methodists to a new method of spiritual formation, Compassion Awareness Training (CAT). The project contained six CAT sessions and two implementation sessions. CAT sessions included instruction about compassion and listening to God, treasure maps of Spirit-inspired clues for a compassion event, and Wesleyan Quadrilateral based questions to clarify clues. The issue was that local churches often fail to adequately respond to the needs of orphans. The Orphan Care Project was developed as an approach to bridge the gap between orphans and Christians. The hypothesis that the project would increase the participants' understanding of orphan care and encourage personal participation resulting in self-reported deeper spiritual experience was proven. The hypothesis was family units who are equipped in and apply apostolic practices will see an increase in their ability to impart those practices to other family units. Apostolic practices were implemented within the context of fourteen families in the Denver Metropolitan area. Data was gathered from pre- and post-testing, a focus group, journal entries facilitated among participants, and a survey conducted among successful apostolic leaders. By eliminating the use of printed words that are either read silently or aloud, and replacing them with biblical storytelling and the use of digital media, the phenomenology of 'transmediatization' was explored as a means in which to deepen the meaning of the worship experience for members of St. Giles Anglican Church, and to consider its validity toward Anglican liturgical renewal in our present post-literate digital culture. It was hypothesized that increased accessibility to the Christian message of hope via media would produce acknowledgeable and measurable changes within the impoverished residents. Mixed methods of research employing quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews in pretest and posttest formats, data from archives, literature reviews, online sources and printed materials were used to measure results. One finding was a grave mistrust for the Church, but a great desire for Christ.
