The project's objective was to present a model for the church to lead efforts to reduce health disparities in underserved communities through collaborations with government and private organizations. Qualitative research was conducted to assess needs and measure project effectiveness, using surveys and interviews. This effort increased health education, outreach, awareness, and identified support resources within the community. Sinai Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The research methodology was qualitative in design and consisted of a pre and post test to determine improvement of spiritual hearing. The approach was phenomenological and the following instruments were used: Spiritual Evaluation, Sermon Evaluations, and Post Test Interview Questionnaire. Given partnerships between churches and communities seldom exist; Ivanhoe implemented a teaching/learning context in partnership with other institutions to equip youth to deal with social, economic and spiritual challenges threatening their well-being and productivity. A qualitative approach using participatory observation, surveys, journaling, and spiritual formation lessons and activities was utilized. The hypothesis states that spiritually empowered youth internalize God's love and develop spiritual discipline and self-control needed to transcend and transform racial, social, and economic constraints. Quantitative and qualitative research were used by sending questionnaires to all 409 women married to clergy in the West Virginia Annual Conference and talking to those who feel called. The research showed that women married to clergy are not struggling with the call into pastoral ministry more than others not married to clergy are. The project focused on the identification, adaptation, utilization and analysis of common spiritual direction methods to facilitate healing and restoration in the life of urban African American women of varying ages and backgrounds who had experienced a crisis that impacted their spirituality. Using a qualitative case study methodology, the participants attended a 13-week program that utilized a variety of spiritual direction methods and learning tools. The project helped the participants re-shape their theology, re-interpret scripture, and re-image God. Healing was initiated through release of shame, forgiveness, empowerment, and reawakened spirituality. The hypothesis is if persons undergo a training model in effective collaboration the culture will change and cause the church to be effective in achieving its mission. A mixed methodology of qualitative and quantitative methods was used to measure attitudinal change. The workshops addressed the issues that hindered effective collaboration, team building, trust building, Myers Briggs Type Indicator and personal and spiritual development. The congregational story project, entitled Discovering Trinity's Angel, entailed videotaping long-time members, sharing remembrances of the innovative ways the congregation communicated the gospel throughout its history. These stories were shown in worship throughout Lent, 2006, and were accompanied by presentations on the influence of media in biblical and church history. The impact of biblical storytelling and the Discovering Trinity's Angel project were measured by both survey and focus groups. The project found that by experiencing the stories of its past, the congregation understood the challenge to further develop its digital culture ministry as consistent with its historic identity and
