The two main objectives of the study are to minister to the spiritual needs of the gay/lesbian person and his/her family, and to design and implement a method of instruction which can help others better understand the needs of gay/lesbian persons and minister to them in the community of believers.  The latter objective is addressed through the design and testing of a workshop format which included general information on homosexuality, social issues, AIDS, Scripture and theology and general ministry to and with homosexual persons. A group of lay persons were involved in an educational process directed at learning about these needs.  Each lay person then was paired with one inner-city youth in order to develop a relationship. Throughout this project both groups were given surveys to determine if their involvement would produce changes in attitudes. The program shows that the involvement of lay persons with the youth changed the lay attitudes, if not their theology. Over a period of three weekends Sinhalese and Tamil Sri Lankan students shared experiences with host families and members of Cove Spring Church.  Participants experienced increased sensitivity, trust, respect, appreciation, willingness to risk, and reconciliation in this venture. The situation requires a relentless application of practical truth and pastoral care in a context of theological reflection. It designed and tested a thirty-six hour workshop that helped eleven participants learn: 1) ways of identifying burnout; 2) what effects burnout can have on one's spiritual and physical conditions; and 3) ways clergy can equip themselves to cope with burnout and retain their effectiveness as ministers.  The project developed three instruments: a Self-Evaluation Survey on Burnout; a Fatigue Factor Survey; and a Participant's Evaluation Form.  This process was successful in raising participants' consciousness about burnout. The document outlines the process involved in completing these three tasks, suggests a theological basis for sponsorship, and presents one model for recruiting and training RCIA sponsors. The project developed six different models for the telling of: 1) each person's pilgrimage of faith and 2) the Christ story.  The participants experienced each method and selected those sections that applied to their own experience, theology and conversational style.  With these selections each person designed his or her own method of faith-sharing.  The goal was to develop a way of sharing the faith that was natural and comfortable for each person. Project Associates and Consulting Faculty assisted the author in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation phases of the project.  Implementation was carried out in a six month period at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Elida, Ohio.  Six case histories were analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness of the materials and counseling sessions. Four sermons on baptism were preached during implementation. It develops economic strategies and educational programs that lead to a sense of economic 'koinonia'.  These strategies are based on 1) principles of the Deuteronomic covenant community such as stewardship, 2) African traditional community, and 3) Black theology.  The Corinthian Baptist Church (Dayton, Ohio) Credit Union implements a consumer education workshop.  The project is divided into four segments: 1) Deuteronomic covenant community, 2) community in Black theology, 3) stewardship in Deuteronomic and Black theology, and 4) principles of individual and communal financial management. The celebration was a goal-setting project in which the congregation developed a strategy for determining its future mission.  The thesis of this project is that the process of developing a mission strategy within the congregation results in a shift of focus by members away from a maintenance orientation and toward a mission orientation.  An instrument designed to measure any change of orientation was administered to the congregation.  The findings indicated that a perceptible but not statistically significant shift did occur during the
