The method of study is a systematic analysis of every facet and/or component that constitutes the total setting of crisis conflict.  The conflict resolution methodology is dialogical interaction between the various components within the contextual setting. A qualitative pro-active research methodology was used involving a case study design to develop a comprehensive narrative based on pre-test and post-test surveys, interviews, quantitative demographic data, and field notes.  Fourteen members of the congregation were involved, eight registered modest improvements in personal computer skills, two reported substantial increases, and four dropped the training. An emancipatory quantitative action research methodology that consisted of one pretest and posttest survey, six stewardship training classes, and two sermons was used to achieve this goal.  A diverse group of twenty-two church officers received stewardship training throughout the project.  Both the researcher and the group grew spiritually during the project. A seven-week stimulus was implemented.  It included an orientation, seven classes, four sermons, a mentoring component, and a graduation ceremony.  Quantitative and qualitative analysis instruments-- pre-test/post-test and interviews-- showed a statistically significant increase in the sample population's participation in church activities and knowledge of church terms. Mount Aery Baptist Church, a 77-year old, 1400 disciple African-American congregation, had recently experienced rapid growth. A sample of congregants was recruited and afforded a treatment consisting of eight seminars, a series of topical sermons and other support. Through the administration of a pre-test and post-test the project measures the discipleship growth of the experimental group as compared with two control groups within the context and three control groups external to the context.
