On the premise that serious adherence to baptismal vows requires intentional, ongoing spiritual formation, the manual begins with baptismal vows and proceeds to prayer in the New Testament, personal rule of life, community/group spiritual formation, and contemporary issues. A United Methodist pastor forms two fifteen-week 'Christian kinetics' groups to study the spiritual disciplines, the spiritual gifts, and readings from the Christian classics, supplemented with a study of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Corrine Ware's Spiritual Wheel.
