Biblical wisdom literature also provides guidance in navigating life situations (Roland Murphy, James Crenshaw).  The current study hypothesizes that high emotional intelligence will assist clergy in navigating critical leadership situations.  To test this hypothesis, twenty-six pastors were administered the BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory.  A group profile was generated, and some findings were significant.  Results have implications for hiring, evaluating, and training pastors. It explores the distinctive nature, the bondage and liberation of man according to this Hindu philosophical view and Christianity.  The former maintains the unity of the essential self and brahman, the ill consequences of Avidya and Karma and the way of freedom through Moksha.  The latter teaches that man, the creature, estranged and enslaved in sin, is distinct from God, the creator, but he through faith can be reconciled to God by the death of Christ on the cross.
