She connected the God-human covenant with the covenant of Christian marriage and suggested that love, loyalty and mutual respect are some of the elements central to keeping covenant.  The discernment of this covenant relationship with God and each other was described through biblical exegesis, theological doctrine, contemporary writings and artistic expression. When church members actively mentor and become companions to new members, then newcomers feel that they are more a part of the congregation and become more active in the life of the church.
