This project/thesis tested the hypothesis that ministering in an environment of religious pluralism causes the minister's theology to become more inclusive.  Four theological models for understanding religious pluralism were developed.  The models were then used with both a reflection group and a survey to test the hypothesis in the context of the Navy Chaplain Corps.  The data suggests that the hypothesis is often true. Its purpose was to engage people of faith in significant encounters with the other, as presented through these different communities of faith.  Elements of the study included lectures about the history and founding personalities of the religions; class discussion and personal sharing; experiences with food; meetings with spiritual leaders and believers; and opportunities of worship from each tradition.  In addition we received materials and documents pertinent to our own faith tradition.
