Her method of research utilized a mixed-methods approach to qualitative research and her project was developed based on Michael Jacoby Brown's twelve steps for community organizing.  Her theological foundation for this project paper was grounded in the theology of Trinity, incarnation and mission.  The entire project was guided by Richard R. Osmer's method of practical theology grounded in a 'wide reflective equilibrium' arising from empirical research, theological engagement, and pragmatic solutions. Pre- and post-intervention interviews were conducted.  A literature review relates to academic failure of African-American students.
