From the sense of difference, this paper analyses  the identity crisis of North Korean refugees who are currently residing in South Korea and observe how  they become surmounting the conflict through bible studies. North Korean Refugees will play a critical role as a bridge in interaction with North Koreans as the reunification is coming closer. Personal testimonies realistically depict our everyday life and are at the core of who we are as Christians. In sharing our testimony of what God has done for us in a corporate worship service, we create the space for authentic God-talk to take place among Christians. The basic hypothesis is that since the advent of the megachurch, the small Black churches have followed the trend and exchanged the mid-week testimony and Bible study service for the 'pastor's Bible study.' In losing the testimony service, members lost the vehicle to share their stories and experiences of the Holy Spirit and how they have overcome in difficult situations. The process for this study included three parts: 1) a survey to determine the congregation's knowledge and attitudes toward personal testimonies, 2) a twelve-week period where personal testimonies were included in the Sunday morning worship services, and 3) a survey following the twelve-week period to determine how knowledge and attitudes may have changed.  Attendance records were also studied.  Attendance records may indicate growth. For them, the prevailing 'born again' model does not express their personal faith experience.  This project prepared a study which used a narrative approach to explore the faith stories of several New Testament characters and the course participants themselves.  Findings indicated that participants were uncomfortable telling their faith stories before the course.  After they were given a variety of models of faith experience, the participants were more comfortable telling their stories and realized the importance of doing so. A qualitative case study method was used. The thesis was supported through the study although the true possibilities for use of spiritual autobiography were not developed through the research.
