Their town was founded to be a hub on the Underground Railroad. While many citizens of Geneseo today know that, they do not know that the founding of the town was part of an organized national strategy put forth by seminarians at Harvard and activists from western New York. This project will serve as a permanent resource in the Geneseo, Illinois Historical Museum. For the first time visitors will be able to discover in a comprehensive way the connections that have been made between the founders of Geneseo and the larger abolitionist movement of 19th-century America. This project chronicles the journeys of the Geneseo founding families, particularly the Allan brothers William and James. The project is interactive, using artifacts, video, student exercises, and storytelling to give the people of this important chapter of American history a voice."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126211085205504,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:24:24.954Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:24:36Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:40:16Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"1c37d400-3f4b-4769-a72e-c550c003c5d5","accessControl_ssim":["e4f12411-a36b-4026-bad1-3a2d4903763d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A study of the formation of healthy church through KOINONIA education between mainstream laypersons and newcomers"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:24:35Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:57:48Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["9dda225a-1e7e-4214-a7fc-f00f64b523bb"],"hasLease_ssim":["de60a7fb-89a1-40c6-acb6-cd16fc39cd29"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Sung Hoon Yuh"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. He focused on how to create reconciliation and a healthier community of believers among them biblically and relevantly: James 2:1, 'My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism' and the brotherhood-and-sisterhood movement from Koinonia movement. The author tried to engage these two insights with Jesus' discipleship, and then explained how the congregation can equitably put them in the congregation's relationship: the brotherhood-and -sisterhood movement and Jesus' disciple-making. By doing so, he demonstrated that the church can become healthier as an authentic Koinonia."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715047503560704,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:40:17.654Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:24:36Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:48:40Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"7ba44733-e802-4bc4-a6de-b04fcc4b9cb3","accessControl_ssim":["82c050c9-ecbb-4aa5-806a-c2204adb781b"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Pitchin' tents: tent-makers, farmer-preachers, teacher-preachers, and slave exhorters: a narrative pastoral model of nurture and care for the bivocational minister"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:24:35Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:46:41Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["3241a9ef-6f18-4eec-8b34-155ef5cde262"],"hasLease_ssim":["53b8575c-7f0c-481d-a72d-dff278442299"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Beverly E Mitchell"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. In many faith communities, these types of clerics have been preferred because of their resemblance to everyday people. The purpose of this project is to reframe or present differently definitions of what bivocational clergy and ministries look like through analysis of denominational and local church statistical data, archival documents, and participant interviews. Through this study the author challenged they current common definitions of what it means and looks like to be bivocational; suggesting that these definitions complicate the possibility of developing sustained, healthy, whole and holistic ministries because they ultimately cheapen the value of ministry. By offering alternative perspectives the author aims to stretch the scope and refine the meaning of being bivocational."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719350449471488,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:48:41.263Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"D.Min.
