The long term healing responses to stress and burnout presented are preventive care, a retreat based Sabbath rest mininstry, and clergy spiritual support groups. She gathered quantitative data on categories of churches and migrations of ordained elders. She also employed ethnographic observation and qualitiative research addressing morale and itinerancy through interviews with selected clergy couples. The results are presented in narrative form with the conclusion that, given demographics and cabinet creativity, there are new models for clergy couples to exercise their call in West Virginia."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719920142909440,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:57:44.565Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:16:38Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:29:35Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d35f500f-fd2a-4ae6-bac2-9441ce89ceac","accessControl_ssim":["cc191786-b003-41cb-8d59-1a38b8a0b8e6"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["An immersion with the poor: an episode of grace"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:16:37Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:10:28Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ed27e363-40de-481b-80b7-f76a090ae491"],"hasLease_ssim":["6b5d23da-f58f-48a6-8e8b-08c98a37c845"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["James C Logan"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. The particular subjects under investigation are 24 affluent American University students who chose to participate in an 'alternative spring break' to Honduras, Nicaragua, Cuba, Chiapas Mexico, Zambia or Vietnam. Relying on interviews and observation, the author concluded that these short impressions provided the students with an occasion for reexamination of their own lives and an opportunity for experiencing transcendence. In most congregations less than 3% of their membership attend the Sunday services. Many attempts to establish new forms of contemporary worship have failed, either because the approaches were too demanding and time consuming or because they were focused on limited target groups and therefore could not have an impact on the congregation as a whole. Based on a creative adaptation of the biblical and Lutheran liturgical heritage the author has developed and implemented a new form of worship that has proved to be effective, appealing and visionary. In fact the so called 'Themengottesdienst' has become the most prominent spiritual tool for Evangelism and church growth in the Wetzlar Cathedral Lutheran Congregation and beyond."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717846331162624,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:24:46.824Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:16:02Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:26:47Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"70687402-f3ee-42c2-9801-85f287a04051","accessControl_ssim":["6546f57d-e08d-488b-9f33-f5c10ec1b05f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Living out of the 'Other's' vision: cross-cultural partnerships in Native American pastoral education"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:16:00Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:25:32Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["100ccf4c-0b60-43d4-87ef-525248c65d8c"],"hasLease_ssim":["3d230646-b687-4411-bdd3-4e96b248ae75"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks","Theresa Little Oyler-Sayles"],"year_tesim":["1999"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min.
