Borgmann believes the most concrete expression of technology is the device that delivers a commodity with minimal involvement in the processes that create that commodity. Consumers in a technological culture default to a 'device paradigm' that shapes their worldview and drives them to commoditize focal realities and sacred things. People expect to enjoy thick spiritual experiences without participating in the processes that create and cultivate such experiences. Proclaiming the gospel message for understanding requires cross-cultural awareness and a use of that knowledge to make the message culturally relevant."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["910240dd-6bfb-49cb-ab06-1b8de036aac8"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132166221987840,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:59:04.215Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:58:01Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:05:44Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"acecf18e-3364-4dd0-942e-93725320749b","accessControl_ssim":["458fa6b4-b659-4b30-8f8a-35cb40f562bb"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Developing leadership in the local church within a post-modern culture: a training resource"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:58:00Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:07:36Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["36fd3078-e58e-4efa-8e68-8a54d146a603"],"hasLease_ssim":["19819100-22cf-4856-96ca-d306b57d280d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["James E Sweeney"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Victor Manuel Rodriguez"],"publisher_tesim":["Western Seminary (Portland, OR)"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Christianity and culture"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This study is a training resource to develop young leadership in the local church within a post-modern culture."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["910240dd-6bfb-49cb-ab06-1b8de036aac8"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132589159874560,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:05:47.560Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:07:00Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:52:12Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0f7cb33a-3a2f-40cf-ab82-668b49df1651","accessControl_ssim":["3f4fdef6-0c07-4a4d-8941-2279c091a172"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Follow up course for Chinese converts"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:06:59Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:33:45Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["13b43cff-4fdc-4200-a85c-0b7332d76ee4"],"hasLease_ssim":["43d09430-5d80-4837-8e63-d7fef73b87ec"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David Hock Tey"],"publisher_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Converts","Christianity and culture","Chinese","Conversion"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The course is designed to help converts achieve a balanced development in their life, behavior, witness, and service, and to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ.
