Matthew","Assimilation of new church members"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This Ministry Research Project focused on equipping pastors and church leaders of the Enon Baptist Association (EBA) to be more effective in recruiting volunteers to serve in the local church. The need was based on concerns voiced by local church leaders. To fulfill this project, the Project Leader invited local pastors and church leaders from the EBA to participate in a six-session training.The Project Leader designed this training to give participants a biblical basis for service in the church by studying three different passages in Scripture. The writer provided participants with current resources utilized in churches to integrate service through spiritual gifts and ministry descriptions into local congregations. Throughout the training, he gave attendees opportunities to apply concepts discussed to their current ministry settings, allowing for practical application.The Project Leader administered a pre-and post-survey to each participant. He used the scores to determine the knowledge of each person before and after the training to determine if any increase in knowledge had occurred. In the project, the reader will be given biblical, theological, historical, and ecclesiological examples of what a healthy family ministry can look like. This project is meant to encourage and equip future and current ministers, especially those with few resources, as they seek to develop a healthy family ministry culture in their contexts. Churches can see healthy family ministry established in their midst regardless of the number of resources at their disposal. Throughout the project, the reader is given biblical instruction regarding the primacy of parental discipleship in relation to the biblical instruction of children. This primacy is made even more specific when the project addresses the role of the husband and father in the home-discipleship process. The project then looks to Hebrews 3 \u0026 10 to address the need for all ages of the church to meet regularly. Once the biblical and theological groundwork has been laid, the project then moves into a section in which the history of modern youth ministry is examined in contrast with the historical precedent of family worship. Deuteronomy","Christian life","Church work with immigrants"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The examination of academic resources, personal experiences with Korean American churches, and interviews from Korean immigrant parents and their children indicate that parents today, including Korean American parents, need family discipleship. A significant number of the next generation are leaving the church and their faith every year. Many Korean parents do not understand why their children drift away from the church and faith. They do not know the biblical responsibility of parents to disciple children in the home. While they never practice family discipleship, they still believe that their children will be exceptions and will not leave the church and their faith. Many immigrant Korean Americans came to America to pursue their American Dream. Secular life goals lead parents and children to busy lifestyles. The parents and children suffer from linguistic, cultural, and generational barriers at home as these three significant obstacles become greater and bigger every day. These barriers make Korean immigrant parents believe it is impossible to teach children the Word of God at home.   This project motivated and equipped Korean immigrant parents to disciple their children at home by involving those parents in six weeks of Bible study materials on family discipleship and biblical parenting. This study also motivated and equipped the parents to break down linguistic, cultural, and generational walls between parents and children so parents could build heart connections with their children. These two principles intersect and form a point of reestablishment in the marriages of believers from a Muslim background (BMBs). Islamic contractual marriage ideas remain in marital relationships of BMBs. The intent of this study is to explore and understand the influence of Islamic contractual marriage on believers who now embrace the ideas of Christian covenant marriage.The qualitative research will explore the believers’ understanding of their Islamic contractual marriage and their beliefs concerning biblical covenant marriage. BMBs retain a contractual view of marriage because they have not applied the ideas of covenant marriage, thereby affecting negatively their spousal relationships. Additionally, the use of certain cultural and religious terms reinforces their understanding of their marital relationship, often reflecting either a contractual or covenant perspective.For BMBs and missionaries there is a deficiency of available literature that compares and explains the differences between the Islamic and biblical views of marriage.
