Arguing that missionary discipleship moves at the speed of quality relationships, it proposes that a healthy social field—marked by trust, openness, and communion—between bishop and priests structurally amplifies missionary vibrancy. Integrating Catholic ecclesiology, organizational development theory, and mixed-methods research with priests across multiple dioceses, the study identifies attitudes and practices that strengthen or weaken this social field. The thesis of this doctoral dissertation is that there are factors within a church staff culture that impact spiritual health of full-time staff members. At its core, this researcher posited three hypotheses to determine whether a church staff environment or ethos will positively contribute to the spiritual health of the employees who work therein: (1) An intentional ongoing investment in and evaluation of the spiritual health of staff members, (2) A sustained emphasis on both the relationship and task side of the spectrum in the day-to-day staff operations, and (3) A fundamental and predominate adoption of and alignment with biblical concepts and practices. A case study research method was selected for this project as a viable means by which to test the validity of these hypotheses. It examined the staff culture of three local American churches to analyze the results. In the estimation of this researcher, numerous churches and pastors do not understand or have yet to realize the influence and impact a workplace culture has on their staff members’ spiritual well-being. Consequently, these types of churches and pastors tend not to have an intentional plan to establish or restructure said culture so that it positively contributes to the spiritual health of the staff. This applied research project seeks to bring awareness to this issue and to provide a way forward for churches and pastors to create, cultivate, and maintain staff cultures that foster spiritual health among their full-time staff members."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129863916093440,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:22:28.565Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:09:39Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:33:29Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"86fbc4c8-ab10-46d3-a180-46c2c396c52f","accessControl_ssim":["fd833f36-b6bc-414d-a276-17eecabc2b3d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["In-Depth Interviews with Predecessors and Successors on Cultivating Excellence in Leadership Transitions in the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church (EKHC) Head Office"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:09:38Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:06:32Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ceca99b8-b31d-424b-b2e6-30c8f6159bdf"],"hasLease_ssim":["331fec23-2db6-4e33-8aa3-b46be93b525e"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["D. In many faith communities, these types of clerics have been preferred because of their resemblance to everyday people. Through this study the author challenged they current common definitions of what it means and looks like to be bivocational; suggesting that these definitions complicate the possibility of developing sustained, healthy, whole and holistic ministries because they ultimately cheapen the value of ministry. By offering alternative perspectives the author aims to stretch the scope and refine the meaning of being bivocational."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719350449471488,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:48:41.263Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:15:45Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:41:47Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"55031ae2-090e-47fc-ac8f-fd6079ba8bae","accessControl_ssim":["a5157acc-48cd-4e02-a2c4-3c3eafc5629e"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A study on empowering lay leaders through the church educational training program to change ministerial paradigm of Korean churches"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:15:43Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:37:26Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["3dc8a747-0da5-4d7c-b14a-5438e7619eec"],"hasLease_ssim":["444a7ebd-81f9-42db-a23a-59e399886f07"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"location_tesim":["Korea"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. It is a very important question to Korean churches, because Korean churches have usually been led by a pastoral group. Another impact on the churches is servant leadership. Servant leadership is very close to the image of the pastor in Korean culture. The ministry paradigm is transferring from a vertical and hierarchical structure of ministry to a horizontal structure including the laity. Based on educational programs with servant leadership, this paper explores how the church educational programs work to change the paradigm of ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718918311378944,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:41:49.144Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:56:37Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:07:01Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8ec7c02f-46a1-4dd6-ab67-262ec6b38163","accessControl_ssim":["fe549247-d66e-495a-8ba3-adff1e57af01"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Preaching and the pastoral persona"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:56:36Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:18:51Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["66e6b173-396c-4831-be6d-90003f637971"],"hasLease_ssim":["cf6ae1bc-3816-40f6-ae58-e58e8440de81"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lucy Lind Hogan"],"year_tesim":["2009"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min.
